Privacy Policy for DocNo

This Privacy Policy applies to the DocNo mobile application and any related services operated by Almond Softwares ("Service Provider", "we", "us", or "our").

DocNo is designed as an offline-first, privacy-focused productivity application. This Privacy Policy explains what information DocNo handles, where it is stored, and how it is protected.

1. Information Collection and Use

DocNo does not operate a remote backend for collecting your application content and does not intentionally transmit your personal application data to Almond Softwares servers.

Information you create or store in DocNo may include:

  • Notes and note content
  • Rich-text formatting
  • Checklists
  • Folders, labels, and tags
  • Expenses and budgets
  • Scanned text
  • Documents and document metadata
  • Calculator history
  • Application preferences, including currency settings
  • Security and app-lock settings
  • Other information that you voluntarily create within the Application

This information is stored locally on your device using Android local storage technologies, including Room Database and DataStore.

We do not collect or sell your notes, expenses, documents, or other application content for advertising or analytics purposes.

2. Device and Usage Information

The current version of DocNo does not integrate analytics or advertising services that collect information such as:

  • Your IP address for analytics purposes
  • Pages or screens visited for tracking purposes
  • Time spent in the Application for analytics purposes
  • Advertising identifiers for advertising purposes
  • Behavioral profiles for advertising purposes

DocNo does not currently use services such as Firebase Analytics, AdMob, Meta/Facebook advertising SDKs, Mixpanel, or Flurry.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

DocNo does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or advertising tracking technologies to track your activity across applications or websites.

The Application does not intentionally perform behavioral tracking or advertising profiling.

4. Local Data Storage

DocNo stores application data locally on your device.

This may include your:

  • Notes
  • Expenses
  • Budgets
  • Documents
  • Scanned text
  • Calculator history
  • Application preferences
  • Other content created within DocNo

Almond Softwares does not maintain a cloud database containing this information.

Because your information is stored locally, you are responsible for maintaining backups of important data.

Data may be permanently lost if, for example:

  • Your device is lost or damaged
  • You uninstall DocNo
  • You clear DocNo's application data
  • Your device is reset
  • Storage becomes corrupted
  • An operating-system or hardware failure occurs

Almond Softwares is not responsible for loss of locally stored data resulting from such events.

5. Document Management

DocNo allows you to organize and manage documents stored on your device.

DocNo does not provide guaranteed cloud backup or cloud storage for your documents.

You should maintain independent backups of important documents.

6. Text Scanner and OCR

DocNo provides text recognition functionality using Google ML Kit.

OCR processing is performed using on-device processing functionality.

Images and text processed through the scanner are not intentionally uploaded by DocNo to Almond Softwares servers.

7. Microphone and Voice-to-Text

DocNo may request microphone permission when you use its voice-to-text functionality.

The microphone is used when you activate the relevant feature.

You may deny microphone permission through Android's permission controls. Features requiring microphone access may not function without the required permission.

DocNo does not intentionally use the microphone for continuous background recording.

8. Biometric Authentication and Password Protection

DocNo provides app-lock and biometric authentication features.

Biometric authentication is handled by the Android operating system and your device's biometric authentication system.

DocNo does not receive or store your fingerprint, facial biometric information, or other biometric templates.

For password-based protection, DocNo uses cryptographic password hashing rather than storing the user's password in plain text.

9. Internet Access

The Application may declare the Android INTERNET permission for application or platform functionality.

However, the current version of DocNo does not use a remote backend to upload or store your notes, expenses, documents, or other personal application content.

The presence of an Internet permission does not mean that DocNo collects or sells your personal data.

10. Advertising and Analytics

DocNo does not currently contain third-party advertising.

DocNo does not currently integrate third-party analytics services for tracking user behavior.

We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.

11. Third-Party Services

DocNo may use third-party libraries or Android platform components necessary to provide specific functionality.

For example, DocNo uses Google ML Kit for on-device text recognition.

Third-party libraries and services may have their own terms and privacy policies.

DocNo does not intentionally provide your notes, expenses, documents, or other personal application content to third parties for advertising or behavioral tracking.

12. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We do not share your locally stored application content with third parties for advertising or analytics purposes.

Information may be disclosed if required by applicable law, legal process, court order, or valid governmental request.

13. Data Retention

Because DocNo primarily stores information locally on your device, Almond Softwares does not maintain a server-side copy of your application content.

Your locally stored data remains on your device until you delete it, clear the application's data, uninstall the Application, or otherwise lose access to the device.

If you contact us directly by email, information contained in that communication may be retained as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, provide support, maintain business records, or comply with applicable legal obligations.

14. Your Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights relating to your personal information.

You may contact us regarding questions, requests, or concerns about privacy.

Because DocNo's primary application data is stored locally on your device rather than on our servers, we generally cannot access or remotely delete that locally stored application data.

For privacy-related requests, contact:

softwarealmond@gmail.com

15. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, applicable California privacy laws may provide you with certain rights regarding personal information.

These may include rights relating to access, deletion, correction, and information about the collection or use of personal information.

DocNo does not sell your personal information or use your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To submit a privacy request, contact:

softwarealmond@gmail.com

16. International Data Transfers

DocNo does not operate a cloud service that routinely transfers your locally stored notes, expenses, documents, or other application content internationally.

If you contact Almond Softwares by email or otherwise voluntarily provide information to us, that information may be processed in the country where our service providers or systems are located, subject to applicable law.

17. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the Application.

DocNo uses Android security mechanisms and local storage technologies to protect locally stored information.

Password-based app protection uses cryptographic password hashing.

However, no electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, operating-system credentials, and access to the Application.

18. Data Breach

If we become aware of a security incident affecting personal information that we are legally required to notify you about, we will provide notification in accordance with applicable law.

Because DocNo primarily stores application content locally on your device, Almond Softwares does not possess a server-side copy of your locally stored notes, expenses, or documents.

19. Children's Privacy

DocNo is not specifically directed toward children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a remote data-collection service.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information directly to Almond Softwares, please contact us at:

softwarealmond@gmail.com

20. Data Backup Responsibility

DocNo is an offline-first application and does not guarantee cloud backup or recovery of your data.

Users should maintain their own backups of important documents, notes, expenses, scanned information, and other important content.

Almond Softwares is not responsible for data loss resulting from device loss, hardware failure, accidental deletion, application uninstallation, clearing application data, operating-system failure, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

21. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

When we make material changes, we may update the effective date and publish the revised Privacy Policy.

The latest version will apply to your continued use of the Application after it becomes effective.

Previous versions may be requested by contacting:

softwarealmond@gmail.com

22. Your Consent

Where applicable law requires consent for a particular processing activity, we will obtain consent through the appropriate mechanism.

You may withdraw consent where applicable by using the available application controls or contacting us.

Because DocNo primarily operates locally, most application data processing occurs on your device rather than through our servers.

23. Contact Us

If you have questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or DocNo's privacy practices, please contact:
