Privacy policy for Alectron
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 8, 2026
Last Updated: October 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to the Alectron mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Application”), operated by Almond Softwares (“Service Provider,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how information is handled when you use Alectron.
Alectron is primarily designed as a local music player and audio processing application. Core music playback and audio-processing features are designed to work directly on your device.
1. Our Privacy Philosophy
Alectron is designed with a privacy-focused, local-first approach.
Your local music files and audio-processing data are not uploaded to our servers for storage or processing.
We do not sell your personal information.
Alectron does not require you to create an account to use its core music-player functionality.
When you choose to send audio to an external playback device, such as a Bluetooth device, USB DAC, or compatible network audio device, the audio is transmitted directly as necessary to provide the requested playback functionality.
2. Information We Process
A. Music and Media Files
Alectron may request permission to access audio files stored on your device, including permissions such as:
READ_MEDIA_AUDIOREAD_EXTERNAL_STORAGEon supported older Android versions
These permissions are used to:
Scan your device for music files
Display your music library
Read music metadata such as title, artist, album, genre, and artwork
Play your local music files
Provide music organization and playback functionality
Your local music files are processed on your device.
Alectron does not upload your personal music library or local audio files to our servers.
B. Audio Capture
If you enable features that require audio capture, Alectron may use the Android RECORD_AUDIO permission.
This may be used for features such as:
Real-time audio visualization
Audio analysis
Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
Audio-reactive visual effects
Audio captured for these features is processed locally on your device and is not intentionally recorded, stored, or uploaded to Alectron's servers.
Alectron does not use microphone access for unrelated purposes.
C. Bluetooth and External Audio Devices
Alectron may request Bluetooth-related permissions, including BLUETOOTH_CONNECT, where required by Android.
These permissions may be used to:
Connect to Bluetooth audio devices
Identify connected audio devices
Control or provide audio playback through compatible devices
Bluetooth audio transmission occurs as part of the operating system's normal audio functionality.
D. Local Network Audio
If Alectron supports local-network audio functionality, it may use network-related Android permissions to discover or communicate with compatible devices on your local network.
This functionality may be used for features such as compatible network audio playback or device discovery.
Alectron does not use local-network access to upload your personal music library to our servers.
E. USB Audio Devices
If you connect a compatible USB DAC or other USB audio device, Alectron may communicate with the device as necessary to provide audio playback.
Audio sent to the connected device is transmitted as part of the playback functionality you initiate.
